Pastor Linda L. Smith
“Sista Breakthru”

A native of Gary, Indiana, Pastor Linda L. Smith currently serves as the interim pastor for Martin Chapel United Methodist Church here in Knoxville, TN since July 2023. Before that assignment, she served almost 17 years on the ministerial staff of Overcoming Believers Church (OBC) in Knoxville, TN, where Daryl W. Arnold is the Senior Pastor. While at OBC, she served as the Dean of the OBC Ministers in Training program for about 15 years, responsible for curriculum development and training up and preparing future and current ministers for ministry, and also served as the head of the Media
Ministry for some time. Before that assignment, she served for about 21 years at St. Joseph House of Prayer (Knoxville, TN) as the head of the Missions Outreach Department and taught the New Christian class.

On April 1, 2010, Pastor Smith started Breakthrough Faith Ministries International where you could hear her teaching ministry broadcast on WITA, AM 1490 and AM 1580 up until December 2015. In 2020, she authored her first book: The Battle for Our Faith: Principles of Faith to Overcome and Always Win. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Arts in New Testament (preaching concentration) program at Johnson University, Knoxville, TN, and has also been ordained and licensed to be a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Smith accepted Jesus Christ into her life as Lord and Savior over 45 years ago, when she was a freshman in college, and believes that God has called her to open the eyes of people through the preaching and teaching of the Word of God that they may “turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness and release from their sins and a place and portion among those, who are consecrated and purified by faith in God” (Acts 26:18).

Pastor Smith has been married for over 36 years to Deacon Sanford P. Smith, Sr. They have two children, Sanford, Jr., and Shondriell, and one grandson, Caiden Josiah.
